Welcome to the Spartanburg County Livestock Producers' Association website. We hope this site will keep all of our current members, and possible future members updated with information about agriculture from the upstate of South Carolina.
This association is interested in the development and promotion of the livestock industry of South Carolina, the protection of the rights and interests of the producer, voicing the unified opinions of the livestock producers, and providing for the common good of the industry. We promote the production of high quality, well bred livestock. We encourage the development of improved pastures and efficient feed production. We urge the development of improved livestock management practices. We wish to create better markets and marketing practices. We advance a greater degree of local consumption of SC grown meats. We encourage and support 4-H club members, SC Jr. Beef Round up, Future Farmers, and Young Farmers. We continuously evaluate political activities for the benefit of the development, promotion, preservation, and production of livestock. Finally, we will engage in any other activity in which the members mutually agree upon to further the development of the livestock industry of South Carolina.
The Association has made a donation to the Spartanburg County Livestock Producers Association scholarship fund in memory of Mr. Zane Woodfin. Mr. Woodfin was a lifetime member of the association which he served in many capacities over the years. This included at least one term as president. He also served a term as president of the South Carolina Cattlemen’s Association and served as a director on the Executive Committee of the National Cattlemen's Association.
